Island Sotheby’s International Realty Welcomes Newest Realtor, Thelma Garso-Pacheco!

As a native Hawaiian and inspired local, Thelma Garso-Pacheco has been a beacon of Hawaiian culture, history, and aloha spirit since 1973 when she moved from the Big Island to Maui. Graduating from Kamehameha Kapalama on Oahu, Thelma has grown up in the local community of Hawai’i and experienced the people, lifestyle, and treasured parts of the islands. She loves and appreciates every corner of Maui, from Iao Valley to Haleakala, and everything in between.

Thelma joined the Island Sotheby’s International Realty ohana as an Administrator/Listing Coordinator for the South Maui Office in 2013. It was here that she learned to love the abundance of knowledge, insight, and appreciation for real estate that ISIR held. Working for a devoted team and alongside dedicated professionals and close friends has helped her harness her passion for her career. Her desire is in helping her community by assisting them in finding and building their own Maui homes and experiencing homeownership for themselves.

“In my professional experience, I carry with me the skills to communicate, listen, support, and articulate the needs and goals of my clients. I look forward to being the Realtor you can trust that will put your needs and wants first.”

Read more about Thelma below and contact her today about experiencing Maui’s beautiful path to homeownership.

What led you to where you are today?

I’ve been with ISIR as the “Listing Coordinator/Office Admin” for the South Maui office since 2013 and learned so much that it inspired me to further my career to venture into real estate sales. Working with this local family based company I’ve been blessed to have built relationships with the partners and agents throughout our 3 offices.

What’s your favorite part about living on Maui and why?

What a great question. Maui is the great culture hero and trickster in Polynesian mythology, fishing up islands with his magical hook and capturing the Sun to lengthen the days just to name a few. I’ve grown to love and appreciate my island Maui, for its beauty as you look up at Haleakala “House of the Rising Sun” and to the picturesque Mauna Kahalawai “House of Water” that embraces Iao Valley. Maui has so much to offer in its nature but it is still connected to the “city-like” life some seek.

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do on Maui but haven’t yet?

I haven’t hiked a trail in Polipoli but I will do this soon as my husband can join me.

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate and why ISIR?

My goal is to help educate, connect, and assist our local Maui residents, to help them recognize that they can create, develop and own land/home or businesses right here on this beautiful island. In this journey I want everyone to have the opportunity to start their family legacy that will grow for generations. I am confident that being a member of the ISIR Ohana will help me accomplish my goals.

Where is one place on the island we can find you on the weekend or in your spare time and why?

I am very dedicated to my ohana and church ohana. We enjoy going to the beach, singing at home, or as you can say “Kanikapila” or just hanging out watching a good movie while eating popcorn. I’m currently one of many ministry leaders at Kings Cathedral Maui. I dedicate a lot of my time sharing my talents in sewing, designing, teaching and connecting.

What should clients know about you?

I am a genuine Hawaiian woman that will go above and beyond to help wherever there’s a need. I am a great listener and one that is trustworthy, I will always tell you the truth whether you want to hear it or not. Let me be that person, friend, or a confidant if that is all that’s needed. Mahalo Ke Akua.
