Cindy Dandois talks PFL lightweight division, upcoming Harrison vs. Pacheco bout, Megan Anderson rematch and more
The ‘Battlecat’ Cindy Dandois has had quite the year, fighting a total of five times and ending it on a four-fight winning streak.
After starting the year with a controversial split decision loss to Iony Razafiarison back in March, Dandois (16-5-0) has rebounded with an incredible four-fight win streak, finishing all those victories by way of submissions.
A former UFC and Bellator MMA fighter, Dandois has been paying close attention to Professional Fighters League (PFL) and their women’s lightweight division. The 35-year-old has previously had success of her own in the 155-pound weight-class, handing King Reina her first MMA loss back in 2017.
Dandois revealed during a recent chat with WMMA Rankings that she has her sights set on competing in PFL’s 2020 lightweight tournament.
“I love PFL, sad they did not ask me to compete for them this year.” Dandois said. “I really hope Larissa [Pacheco] gets the win on December 31, but Kayla [Harrison] is a great fighter too. Look forward to seeing it“.
“Of course I’d love to fight for PFL. I think I am a hard fight for everybody. People can talk bad, but my record says I am 16-5 and 13 of my wins are finishes. If it comes to the judges I lose mostly because of my style I guess, but I have never missed weight, and I show up to fight and finish” she continued. “And during all this I still teach full-time, raise five kids all by myself and run my own gym, Lynx MMA. Think I deserve a little respect for that.”
After fighting on the regional scene for much of 2019, Dandois hopes to find a home with a promotion in 2020, preferably at 145 or 155-pounds.
“Hopefully in 2020 I can finally find a home in my own healthy weight. 145 or 155 for PFL, Rizin, ONE, Bellator. Or if Megan [Anderson] wants a rematch, I am also game.” Dandois said.
Dandois is a pioneer of the sport who has been fighting professionally for over a decade. She owns notable victories over the likes of Megan Anderson, Marloes Coenen, Jorina Baars, King Reina and Jessamyn Duke.
