Moon Knight is Marvel’s newest Bronze Age hero to grace the small screen. Actor Oscar Isaac successfully introduced one of comics’ most mythical yet complex protagonists to a new generation of comic book readers and Marvel enthusiasts.
Following the massive success of the much anticipated, highly watched Disney+ series Moon Knight, more questions than answers have emerged regarding the moon-themed vigilante. While most of Moon Knight’s powers are archetypical, he has some impressive supernatural abilities he seldom uses that set him apart from his contemporary crime fighters.
CBR VIDEO OF THE DAY
10 Moon Knight Wield’s The Power Of Hypnosis
Moon Knight has a powerful ability similar to street-level hero Iron Fist. By using the “voice of Khonshu,” Marc Spector can hypnotize friends and foes. He has only used this incredibly useful ability a handful of times, but it’s proven a powerful tool for getting him out of some difficult situations.
Moon Knight first used this ability in the pages of Moon Knight #1 by Jed Mackay and Corey Petit, explaining that Khonshu’s voice can be channeled through other people to convey a message. Additionally, the “voice of Khonshu” served as a self-hypnosis or mental barrier for Moon Knight.
9 Moon Knight Can Manipulate Lunar Material
One of Moon Knight’s greatest abilities, fans saw him wield lunakinesis during the Disney+ series. Through the use of this magical power, Marc Spector can control aspects of the moon’s functions, and he can control objects made of moon material.
In the pages of Avengers #33 by Jason Aaron, Javier Garron, Jason Keith, and Cory Petit, Moon Knight schooled Thor on the origin of his mythical hammer Mjnolir. Explaining Mjnolir was composed of Uru, or moon rock, Moon Knight manipulated Mjnolir and handed the demigod a brutal beat-down.
8 Moon Knight Displays Self-Sustenance And Environmental Adaptation
Marc Spector has the uncanny ability to survive in places without an Earth-like atmosphere for extended periods while wearing any of the Moon Knight garbs. This has afforded Marc the ability to survive in places such as the desert, with its extreme temperatures, or to battle in the vast vacuum of space.
In the pages of Avengers #33 by Jason Aaron, Javier Garron, Jason Keith, and Cory Petit, Moon Knight stole Ghost Rider’s 1969 Dodge Charger to travel to space to fight Thor. Moon Knight could survive the cold inhospitable environment of space without the use of any equipment.
7 Moon Knight Has Enhanced Cognitive Function & Abilities
Moon Knight doesn’t receive a lot of credit for his mental prowess when compared to the heroes, such as Batman, Reed Richards, and Black Panther. However, his deity-imbued powers grant him abilities that help shape his mental acuity and tactical strategy.
Marc Spector’s battle prowess and military strategy are amplified through his connection with Khonshu. This grants Marc the ability to discern how to physically face off against stronger opponents or execute a plan of attack during big brawls. Moon Knight’s ability to transition between his alters with absolute fluidity also allows him to change combat strategies on the fly, throwing his opponents off guard.
6 Moon Knight Can Contact The Spirit World
One of Moon Knight’s least talked about supernatural feats is the ability to communicate with the spirit world. The Marvel Universe has an extremely complex afterlife. However, Marc Spector navigates the metaphysical terrain with ease, thanks to his power of necromancy. Moon Knight shares a special connection with Black Panther as Egyptian deities power both heroes.
In Moon Knight #12 — by Jed Mackay, Alessandro Cappuccio, and Rachelle Rosenberg, Vc Cory Petit — Marc travels to the Wakandan ancestral plane to guide Black Panther back from the afterlife. This supernatural feat isn’t an isolated incident; Marc has demonstrated this ability multiple times throughout the years.
5 Moon Knight Can Mimic The Attributes Of Fellow Heroes
In the comics, Moon Knight has a fictionalized version of Dissociative Identity Disorder, and his alters possess unique traits and abilities. One of Moon Knight’s alters, Buck Lime, can recreate gear and weapons from iconic heroes such as Wolverine, Captain America, and Spider-Man.
Buck Lime has successfully copied Spider-Man’s web-shooters, Captain America’s shield, and Wolverine’s claws. The ability’s only downside is that Moon Knight can only recreate inorganic gear, weapons, and equipment from mortal human beings.
4 Moon Knight Can Drain & Absorb Life Energies
Power Absorption is one of Moon Knight’s more interesting powers and has been used several times to capture abilities from other heroes. In Avengers #33 by Jason Aaron, Javier Garron, Jason Keith, and Vc Cory Petit, Moon Knight takes the cosmic and mystical powers of Iron Fist, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange.
Marc has accomplished this spectacular feat with the help of an Ankh granted to him by Khonshu. Moon Knight has even absorbed the energy of the Phoenix, effortlessly wielding its immense power.
3 Moon Knight Has Resistance To Telepathic Attacks
Moon Knight’s alters have acted as a line of defense against some of Marvel’s foremost telepaths, making it difficult for them to read his mind and preventing him from being mind controlled. He has also proven that he’s cognitively resilient and fortuitous in any situation.
Moon Knight takes great offense to those who would try to probe his thoughts and invade his mind without permission. Moon Knight’s defenses are so powerful that a telepath named Hawley was left in a catatonic state after trying to psionically enter the vigilante’s mind in Moon Knight, Vol 9 #2 by Jed Mackay, Alessandro Cappuccio, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Cory Petit.
2 Moon Knight Is Capable of Phase Transformation
Phase Transformation is one of Moon Knight’s more complex powers. The ability isn’t always consistent and often changes depending on the story. The ability allows Marc to walk through solid objects, transform into his Moon Knight outfit, or amplify his abilities based on lunar cycles.
In Conan: Serpent War #4 — Jim Zub, Ig Guara, Vanesa Del Rey, Frank D’Armata, Jean-François Beaulieu, Travis Lanhamby, and Carlos Pacheco — Moon Knight walked through a glass pane without injury and emerged fully costumed. Marc’s moon-connected power boost
even allowed him to defeat and steal power from three mystically powered heroes during a full moon.
1 Moon Knight Has Prophetic Dreams And Visions
Moon Knight can receive prophetic visions separate from his self-hypnotic state. The visions are usually completely supernatural in origin and are often derived directly from Khonshu.
This ability was first explored in the pages of Moon Knight Volume 5 #6 by Charlie Huston, David Finch, Danny Miki, Frank D’Armata, and Joe Caramagna. Khonshu appeared as a slain foe, Bushman, and prodded Marc into operating at a peak superhuman level as Moon Knight. This connection also allowed Moon Knight to peer into his enemies’ weaknesses.

A man residing in the United Kingdom has gotten his iPhone back, in working condition, 10 months after he dropped it into a river.
Owain Davies dropped his iPhone into the River Wye near Cinderford, Gloucestershire in August 2021, reports the BBC. At the time, Davies was canoeing during a bachelor party. Gone forever, right?
However, in June, Miguel Pacheco of Drybook, Gloucestershire found the device while he was canoeing in the river. Pacheco took it home, dried it out, and attempted to track down its owner by posting images of it online.
While Pacheco didn’t think drying out the iPhone would do any good, because it was “full of water,” he still worked to dry the device, because he knew it could have contained sentimental data images.
“I know if I lost my phone, I’ve got a lot of pictures of my children, I know I’d want that back,” he said.
Pacheco dried out the device with an air compressor before placing it into an airing cupboard to dry. When he put it on the charger the next morning, the background showed a picture of a man and woman, as well as August 13 — the date that the device fell into the water.
“I just couldn’t believe it,” Pacheco said.
Pacheco’s image posts on Facebook were shared more than 4,000 times. Eventually, friends of Davies and his fiancee Fiona Gardner recognized the images and contacted him. It was eventually returned in working order.
Davies explained to the BBC how the device fell into the river.
“I was in a two-man canoe and my partner probably shouldn’t have stood up, and needless to say we fell in,” he said. “The phone was in my back pocket and as soon as it was in the water I realized the phone was gone.”
Davies praised Pacheco for his efforts to save the device. “My natural reaction would be to hand it into the nearest pub. It wouldn’t be to use my air compressor to dry it out and dismantle it,” he said.
Newer iPhone models are rated as IP68 water-resistant, allowing them to withstand up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.

Kevin Box has always known exactly what he intends to do with his life. In his words, “I want to have a conversation with people now and hundreds of years into the future.”
As an artist, Kevin has been fascinated by the evolution of “lost wax casting” to create bronze sculptures and he spent many of his early years being mentored by other successful sculptors. Through his own R&D, he developed a unique signature by “unfolding” origami and casting these beautiful patterns into museum quality wall hangings.
“ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN” traces the career arc of Kevin and his partner/wife Jennifer as they now continue to create multiple traveling exhibitions of their artwork. Over the past decade, their unique sculptures have been viewed all over the country by millions of people.
“ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN” is an Artfilm, a Love Story, and an inspiration for all by showing what is possible…just starting with a simple piece of paper!
Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, General Wesley Clark and his son Wes Clark Jr. take us on a journey through the complicated realities of our financial system and its profound exposure to climate change. Hot Money outs the whole game, the whole charade, the whole crapshoot of the money system with all the humor and intelligence of a New Yorker cartoon. Combined with the wisdom of international business experts and academics, Hot Money is rich with historical context. It severs the knot of economic and political forces that may lead to societal collapse.
Documentary by Susan Kucera (director of Jeff Bridges Living in the future’s past)
USA July 2021 51 minutes 48 seconds
Much of our population currently lives with hopeful delusions about climate change. These delusions, many of which are built in by evolution, hamper our ability to meaningfully address the problem.
Our brains evolved to solve short-term challenges for our survival. Climate change is a long-term challenge to our survival. Can we bridge the gap between these modes of thinking?
Emmy-nominated actor David Morse narrates the brutally honest 12th hour with insight from noted evolutionary biologists, climate scientists, cognitive researchers and psychologists.
Visionary thinkers like Peter Russell, Dr. Paul Piff, Dr. Kari Norgaard and dozens of the brightest minds in academia lay out an unflinching look at mankind: our past, our abilities, our shortcomings and what may be humankind’s final destination.
If we have any hope to survive the changes we’ve locked in to our climate, we need to be honest with ourselves and our limitations. The 12th Hour lays out our biases so that we may overcome them.

Australia june 2021 90 minutes (in post)
ENOUGH! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour follows Australian-Lebanese filmmaker Daizy Gedeon’s personal and independent introspection into how her ancestral homeland, the place her family was forced to flee in the 1970s because of the Civil War, has ended up in a state of complete catastrophe. It is a story of awakening in which Daizy is forced to abandon her idealism about Lebanon and face the cold, harsh truth about the country’s dark underbelly which is its most sinister enemy.
Daizy prosecutes the case against the corrupt political class which has reduced a proud people to beg for garbage collection instead of greatness and negotiate potholes rather than peace.
ENOUGH! is the plea and the prayer, the feeling and fierce determination of the 4.5 million Lebanese in Lebanon as well as the 16 million members of the Lebanese diaspora scattered around the world, whose hearts continue to bleed for a homeland they are desperate to return to and so deeply want to believe in…once again.
“The Sound of Us” illustrates that during this critical time in world and U.S. history, music gives sound to hope and courage, allows us to grieve and be honest, and is the great, universal language that unites us all.
As the world grapples with unrest the profound truth remains that, through music, we are not alone.
The Sound of Us weaves inspiring stories about the beauty and goodness of music with interviews and performances by artists such as Ben Folds, Sarah McLachlan, Avery*Sunshine, Eric Whitacre, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Hiromi, Antonio Sanchez, Butch Walker, Will Wells, Patti Smith, and many more. Combined, these powerful vignettes illustrate how music heals us, gives us hope for the future through our children, keeps our heritage and history alive, allows us to have the most difficult of conversations, sheds light on current struggles, and continues to invite us back to the thing that unites us all – music.
The film is directed by Chris Gero, a Grammy nominated, American music industry executive, concert producer, record producer, songwriter, film director and composer, founder of Yamaha Entertainment Group of America and Chief Artist Relations Executive for Yamaha Artist Relations Group
