Frank Pacheco, Jr.

Frank Luis Pacheco Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones and friends, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. The cause was complications from surgery along with chronic renal failure.

Born November 13, 1941, in Taft, California. He is a life long resident of the Central Coast and Santa Ynez Valley. Frank spent many years employed as a truck driver and a farmer. He will forever be remembered as a man who helped others and had a way of simplifying things. He may have been a man of few words but when he spoke those words mattered.

Frank was a caring husband, proud father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his wife Norma Pacheco, two sons, Trevor Pacheco and Frank Pacheco III, two daughters, Rebecca Pacheco and Kathryn Frazier, brothers, George and William Pacheco and his five grandchildren, Chance, Shawn, Trevor, Blake and Shelby.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015,10:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard, California. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the gofundme account: http://www.gofundme.com/wx43xf7

Frank Bernard Pacheco, 66, died of cancer Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at home in Durango surrounded by family and friends.

Mr. Pacheco was born Sept. 29, 1947, in the Mexican Flats neighborhood of Durango to Frank Joe Pacheco and Frances E. Montoya Pacheco. Mr. Pacheco lived all of his life in Durango. He attended Smiley Junior High.

He married Rose Mary Lucero on Dec. 18, 1965, and they had four children together.

Mr. Pacheco was employed at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad for 27 years as senior track patrolman.

He enjoyed telling stories from his days working on the railroad and playing pool. He especially loved his animals and watching his favorite team, the Denver Broncos.

The family remembers his favorite sayings were “Plan ahead so you don’t fall behind” and “Common sense makes common knowledge.”

Mr. Pacheco is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rose Mary Pacheco of Durango; daughters LaDonna Manore of Durango and Michelle Salazar of Farmington; sons Frank Pacheco Jr. and Lenard Pacheco, both of Farmington; sisters Laverne Pacheco of Durango, Dorothy Delgado of Farmington, Josephine Escojeda of Farmington; brother, Robert Pacheco of Durango; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Gallegos of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango.
