Pigeons are downright interesting when you start learning more about them. For example, some scientists argue that the common city pigeon (aka the rock pigeon) might have been the very first birb that hoomans have ever domesticated. They’re featured as figurines, in mosaics, and on coins from ancient Mesopotamia since at least 4500 BC. Bored Panda reached out to the Royal Pigeon Racing Association to learn more about these birds. What do you think will be the next ‘gamechanger’ in digital marketing? What excites you?

Automation definitely excites me, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next “gamechanger” in this area will be. I think convenience and finding the customer or consumer where they are will really be the next big thing.

Digital marketers often talk about the value exchange. Do you think consumers appreciate the concept?

Absolutely! I believe that the more that companies are consumer-centric, the more that they will appeal to their consumers, reach them, and gain or retain their business. It becomes a win-win for both parties.

What burning question would you like to ask other industry experts?

“Are robots going to take over?!”

What is the buzzword or phrase you’d like to ban forever?

I would love to ban the phrase “dumb question!” I firmly believe there is no such thing. The question surely was asked at some point by others, so this makes it a great question! Questions are the best way of learning.

What do you wish you’d known 10 years ago?

I wish I knew that everything works out exactly the way it’s supposed to in terms of professional and personal achievements! I wish I spent more time networking when applying to jobs after graduation and less time cold applying to companies online. I also wish I didn’t feel like I had to have everything figured out. For some reason, I thought I had to know exactly what I wanted to do, where I wanted to work, where I wanted to live, etc. It’s actually quite the contrary when you’re fresh out of school. I wish I knew that life could be trial and error. The more experiences and things I tried, the more I would know what I actually was looking for in life.

How do you manage work/life balance? How do you unwind?

Working out! It’s my favorite escape where I get to focus on myself. It gives me adrenaline and energy, and I love working out as soon as I wake up so that I can bring my best self to work or to my day. The foodie in me also loves to try new restaurants or see family & friends.

Do you have any hidden talents? Party trick?

I speak Spanish! This is something that has always benefitted me both in my personal and professional worlds. As our world becomes more and more diverse, I think it’s so important to understand different cultures and markets, so this is something that really helps.

What can’t you live without?

Apps! It’s amazing how much we rely on them from weather to driving directions to coupons. I don’t know what we would do without them.

If you could retire to anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose?

I would retire in Dubai. I have always been so drawn to new cultures and would really love to live somewhere that is so different than what I’m used to. It looks so magical.

I love helping people! I have so many wonderful people to thank for being where I am today, and I love giving back and helping others in return. I love sharing some background or best practices with others.

The rich flavor of those garden tomatoes add a fresh, vibrant flavor to the vegetables and beef. Add any veggies you like (or ones you know your kids will actually eat). We love peas, carrots, corn, and green beans, but you could add any number of fresh or frozen veggies. The more the better! And the ground beef can be swapped out for ground turkey or even chunks of stew beef. Whatever the variations, it’s a healthy soup to feel good about, yet hearty enough to make you full and satisfied.

How to Make Crock Pot Vegetable Beef Soup

In a skillet cook ground beef with onion until browned and season with salt and pepper.  

Place cooked ground beef mixture and remaining ingredients in a large slow cooker and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours or until potatoes are fork-tender.

*If you do not want to use a slow cooker, brown beef and onion in a large pot or Dutch oven and add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer about 20 minutes or until potatoes are fork-tender.
