Gilroy man killed in crash on Pacheco Pass Highway – East Bay Times

A 25-year-old Gilroy man died early Saturday in a solo crash on Highway 152, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 12:40 a.m. Saturday on eastbound 152 (Pacheco Pass Highway) just west of Bloomfield Avenue.

The man, driving a GMC Sierra 1500 pickup, went off the right side of the road and clipped a power pole and two trees. The truck contined to travel, spinning, and the man was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers in the truck, and no other vehicles were involved.

The driver’s name has not been released. CHP officers believe he was not wearing a seatbelt. It had not been determined whether he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
