ZP polls: Pacheco lends support to Congress – The Navhind Times – Around Goa
Former Nuvem MLA Francisco Xavier ‘Mickky’ Pacheco, on
Saturday, came out in support of the Congress for the Zilla Panchayat election
as he also said that he would help the Congress win the 2022 assembly
elections.
Speaking to media persons in Margao on Saturday, Pacheco,
along with his supporters, urged the voters to support the Congress candidates
in the constituencies of Colva, Benaulim, Nuvem and Raia, stating he would stay
with Congress.
“I have had lots of political problems, but keeping all
of them aside I am here to support Congress and urge the voters to vote for
them. I will stay united with the Congress party and for the 2022 elections; I
along with the Congress will form the government, even if it requires me to
sell a kidney,” said Pacheco.
He further added that though there was no decision on who
would contest the assembly elections, he expressed confidence about winning the elections.
“The people of Goa have been suffering too much. Congress
is one of the oldest parties in the country and well respected, but somewhere
because of greed, the 10 MLAs went and joined the BJP. Despite this, there is
no development and I condemn the government,” he said.
